Reading has always been promoted passionately at The Winchester School, Jebel Ali. The multidimensional benefits of reading can be encapsulated by the fact that  reading holds a pivotal position in the UAE national agenda.

We are proudly a reading school, and we strongly believe that reading is intricately linked to wellbeing. The Winchester Summer Reading Challenge (WSRC) is one of the multifaceted initiatives at Winchester to celebrate the joy of the written word while bringing outstanding readers from all over the country together.

WSRC 2021 was launched in June 2021. Students from all over the UAE were invited to participate in the competition. The competition required the participants to read books as per their reading preferences during the given period of time and maintain a reading log. Participants also had to write reviews for each book so that they could hone their writing and critical thinking skills as well. The response received this time has been absolutely overwhelming and establishes WSRC 2021 as one of the most prominent reading-based competitions among UAE schools. Have a look at the impact of WSRC 2021!
